Welcome to Qigong Heals

Just imagine living a happy and joyful life!

  • Are you living with painful "life's lessons" over and over again?
  • Are you recovering from some mistake, loss, betrayal, abuse, injustice or misfortune?
  • Do you experience depression, doubt, dispair, stress or anxiety?
  • Do you wish you had more energy?

When our bodies are out of balance, energy blockages happen in one or more areas of the body. When we practice Qigong we remove the blockages so the energy can flow again. The body starts healing. There is a difference between Qigong and other forms of exercise. It has to do with advanced and increased blood flow through the body. The mind leads the Qi, the blood follows the Qi. All done in a relaxed manner, facilitating blood flow.

What is Qigong?

Qigong (pronounced "chee gong") is an ancient healing practice from China, which brings your mind, body, and heart energy together to achieve balance through active meditative movements and sitting meditations. The Chinese call the energy in a person's body "qi". Qi works in this way: when qi flows smoothly in the body, life is good and you are physically and mentally healthy. When the flow of qi is interrupted, energy blockages form and can lead to physical or mental health problems. When qi totally stops, that is the end of life. "Gong" means the "the flow of" or "the practice of". Qigong, then, means "the flow or practice of energy".

Qigong practice helps the qi (energy) in the body flow freely so the body stays in balance and healthy, which helps prevent energy blockages. It can also help heal energy blockages when the body is sick. Many people in China practice Qigong, and many doctors teach their patients different Qigong exercises and postures to help them heal.

The practice of Qigong is quickly gaining attention in the western world for its tremendous physical and mental/emotional health benefits.

Through the simple practice of Qigong you will learn to increase your life force and heal your mind, body and spirit.

The practice of Qigong is often referred to as "acupuncture without the needles" as it transforms energy, balancing the yin and yang in our meridian system helping to heal physical and mental pain. We direct the flow of energy with our mind, breath and hands. The focus is healing, where our attention goes, energy flows.

Qi = energy or vital life force

Gong = cultivate/transform/work

Spring Forest Qigong (SFQ) is a simple, efficient, and effective method for helping you experience your optimal health, wellness, and happiness; helping you heal physical and emotional pain; and enhancing the quality of your life and the lives of others.

SFQ is comprised of four parts that all work together:

  • Breathing
  • Gentle movements (active exercises)
  • Mental focus
  • Sound

The moving of Yin and Yang exercise is specifically focused to help heal your internal organs. Master Chunyi Lin designed all Spring Forest Qigong active exercises to enhance the flow of your energy, open any energy blockages you may have, and bring your energy back into balance.

Having balanced, smoothly-flowing energy is the key to experiencing and maintaining your optimal health and wellness.

Each active exercise also provides a specific additional benefit.

In Chinese teaching there are two types of energy: yin and yang. Everything in the universe is comprised of yin and yang energy. You can think of it as female and male or like the negative and positive charges of a magnet or battery.

One of the reasons you get sick is that your yin and yang energies are out of balance. All Spring Forest Qigong techniques are designed to bring your yin and yang energies back into balance to help you be the best you can be.

Master Chunyi Lin created Spring Forest Qigong to empower us with simple exercises to transform our own energy, by teaching us ways to open our energy channels and maintain balance. He also teaches us how to enhance the lives of others by sharing this practice with others, opening our hearts to the healing energy of unconditional love and the use of simple healing techniques. As Gandhi said: "Love is the strongest force the world possesses".

Helpful Tips

  • Breathe slowly, gently, deeply
  • Let your body relax
  • Focus on feeling the energy
  • As you breathe in, gently draw your abdomen in a little
  • As you breathe out, let your abdomen out. (Breathing this way increases the communication of your yin and yang energies.)
  • Gently place the tip of your tongue against the roof of your mouth. (Your tongue is an energy switch that connects your body's two main energy channels.)
  • Keep your hands and fingers open. (When you open your hands and fingers, you open your energy channels. When you close your hands and fingers, you close your energy channels.)
  • Do these movements standing, sitting or lying down
